The CMF was established in 2002 by the Highways Agency after three years of pilot schemes. There are 22 organisations in the framework providing management, design and contracting services in two regional areas for the maintenance of the road network,
CRL was involved with the pilot schemes and after a rigorous selection process was selected for the provision of concrete repair and cathodic protection services.
Contract Details:
- CRL has completed 18 contracts for the Framework Contract across the whole of the region.
- The contract values range from £11,000 for concrete inspection works up to £3.2M for a major repair scheme.

The company has been instrumental in introducing new impressed current cathodic protection systems for the protection of the reinforced concrete bridges. These include mesh and overlay systems and conductive sprayed mortars.
New CP systems have been installed and existing installations repaired primarily on the midland links network but also in the Manchester region. Major concrete repairs have been undertaken to bridge decks and support structures using sprayed and flowable concrete repair materials.
