Underground, or liquid retaining structures constructed from concrete, blockwork or brickwork can often leak during their service life and even sometimes immediately after construction.

The varying types and often unusual configuration of such structures, however, makes the stopping of these leaks as much an art as a science and it is extremely important that those responsible for their upkeep appoint a specialist contractor with the both the experience and technical capability to put matters right.

Nation-wide multi-disciplined refurbishment Contractor, Concrete Repairs Limited (CRL), has been repairing such structures throughout the UK and overseas since 1955. This 50 years experience has enabled the company to establish a range of proven waterproofing options using either the latest developments in materials and techniques, or tried and tested traditional methods.

A new brochure just published by the company, entitled ‘Professional Structural Waterproofing’, reveals the extent of the techniques employed and CRL’s full structural waterproofing services, which include inspection and reporting, identifying the causes of failure and providing a range of costed repair options.

Techniques employed include the injection of resins to seal against substantial water ingress, joints or cracks liable to move and fine cracks in reinforced concrete walls or floors; curtain injection to waterproof concrete or brick  structures and seal very fine cracks; grout injection to fill voids in concrete or masonry substrates; the installation of water bars to seal joints or cracks liable to movement; the application of renders and coatings for brick or concrete basements (or water retaining structures) with potentially numerous leaks and/or fine leaking cracks and drainage systems for basements unable to accept a rigid render.
