| For the second year running and from a shortlist of four companies, specialist main contractor Concrete Repairs Limited (CRL) has won the ‘Best Place to Work in Construction’ award for 2007. This time the company was successful under the Civil Engineering Contractor category.
A key element of the awards, hosted by ‘Contract Journal’ and sponsored by ConstructionSkills and Hays Construction, is that the entrant’s score is based upon the comments submitted by its own employees, to an independently created questionnaire. Thus, unlike many other awards, it is the candidate’s own employees that decide whether the Company is successful, or not.
Now in its third year, the Contract Journal Awards attract many entries, with organisations keen to be seen as one of the best employers in the construction industry.
Tony Rimoldi, CRL’s Managing Director commented, “CRL continually strives to create and maintain a decent environment in which its employees operate. I recognise that nothing can be perfect but all CRL staff have my assurance that where ever possible we will continue to improve”.
The ‘Best place to work in construction’ award quickly follows other CRL successes. The Company swept the board at the recent ‘Construction News’ hosted, third annual ‘Specialists in Construction Awards’, when it won both the individual ‘Concrete’ category and also the ‘Special Award for Exceptional Performance’; the latter being selected from the entire fifty-three companies that reached the finals of this year’s event.
These successes were not unpredictable. They reflect CRL’s vast experience in building maintenance, renovation and refurbishment over more than 50 years.
