Frank Dyton (Former CRL Managing Director) 1930-2022

It is with regret that we announce the passing of Frank Dyton former Managing Director of Concrete Repairs Ltd. Frank joined CRL as a young civil engineer in the 1960’s when the company was based in Victoria, becoming Managing Director in 1984 and he remained in that post until his retirement in 1992.

Frank grew up in North London and at primary school was a keen footballer. However, as he progressed through secondary school, rugby became his passion. That passion led to him being a lifelong (74 years!) member of Southend Rugby Football Club. Other keen interests included squash and sailing.

His career in civil engineering was helped by his Royal Air Force National service which included airfield construction, and repair. A lifelong member of the Institution of Civil Engineers Franks’ enthusiasm for the profession led to him supporting many young engineers, many of whom are still with CRL today. Frank helped to grow the business and to establish its foundations as the leader in the field of repair and rehabilitation of concrete structures. Frank was a talented and professional contractor but never forgot the needs of his loyal staff.

Frank leaves Rita, his wife of 62 years, his two sons Chris and Richard, 6 grandchildren and many friends and colleagues who owe him such a huge debt of gratitude.
