The Durdham Down Water Tower in Bristol, a twelve-sided reinforced concrete structure built in 1954, has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment to extend its service life and enhance sustainability.

Regular inspections identified defects including concrete spalling, cracking, and failing internal linings. Concrete Repairs Limited carried out detailed internal and external surveys, followed by structural repairs, hydro-demolition, protective coatings, anti-carbonation treatments, and roof waterproofing. New windows, upgraded lighting, and improved handrails were also installed.

This project demonstrates how the careful repair and maintenance of water infrastructure can preserve historically significant assets, maintain critical potable water supply, and align with modern carbon reduction and sustainability standards.
