Tony RimoldiChairmanTony is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and a Chartered Director. He joined the company in 1983 and was appointed to the Board in 1988. He became Managing Director in 1992 and Chief Executive in 2006. He brings extensive, hands-on experience across virtually all areas of the business, having spent many years managing contracts and leading the company’s expansion and sustained growth.
In 2006, Tony led a management buyout that transitioned ownership to the Board and Senior Management. As Executive Chairman, he is responsible for setting and agreeing the company’s future strategy, with overall Board accountability for the business, its people, and its assets.
Sanjay PatelManaging DirectorSanjay qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Brebners and joined MJ Gleeson Group plc in 1997. As Group Financial Controller, he was involved with the restructuring of the Group, which saw the sale of its subsidiaries and property portfolio. This allowed him to join the MBO team to purchase CRL in 2006. He joined the Board in 2006 as its Finance Director, and in 2024 became Managing Director.
As Managing Director, he has overall responsibility for the strategic leadership and management of the business, while continuing to oversee the company’s accounting and financial controls and to establish the financial strategy required to maintain cash flows and support long-term growth.
Steve JonesSHEQ & Business DirectorSteve is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, a Member of ICorr, and a Chartered Member of IOSH, with over 40 years of construction experience. After 10 years with Higgs and Hill, he joined CRL as a Contracts Manager in 1993. In 1999, he started up the Bristol Office, which he ran as Regional Manager before joining the board in 2018.
Steve has extensive experience with concrete repair and coating techniques, cathodic protection, temporary works and bearing replacement. As SHEQ & Business Director, Steve leads the SHEQ function, encompassing Sustainability and Social Value, alongside Business Development and Marketing.
Daren KingOperations DirectorDaren is a Chartered Engineer who joined CRL in 1997 as a Contracts Engineer. Prior to this, he worked in the rail industry on prestigious projects, including tunnelling beneath Waterloo Station for the Jubilee Line Extension. Promoted to Senior Contracts Manager at the Mitcham office in 2002, he later relocated to the Midlands to support the company’s continued growth.
Daren has led many of CRL’s larger traditional refurbishment schemes and brings extensive experience in repairing and upgrading structures, including multi-storey car parks, buildings, and bridges. He also specialises in structural strengthening using carbon fibre and corrosion control through galvanic and cathodic protection systems. In 2019, Daren was promoted to Regional Manager for the North and Midlands, based at CRL’s Chesterfield office. In 2020, Daren was promoted to a full Board Director.
Adrian PikeGlobal Framework DirectorAdrian is a Construction Management professional with a degree from Sheffield Hallam University and over 35 years’ experience in the industry. His career spans both the UK and international markets, with projects delivered in more than 50 countries.
He has contributed to major landmark schemes, including the Prince of Wales Bridge, the Palm Jumeirah Gateway in the UAE, and many more, demonstrating expertise in complex, high-profile environments. Adrian joined CRL in 2022 as Highways Manager, was appointed to the Board in 2025, leading the Highways Division, oversees Australian operations, playing a key role in delivering CRL’s SDF frameworks for National Highways.
Murray SoutarRegional Director (Scotland & Ireland)Murray is a Chartered Construction Manager and Member of the Chartered Institute of Building, with over 50 years’ experience managing multi-disciplinary construction activities. He joined CRL in 2004 from its then-parent company, MJ Gleeson, where he had worked since 1986, eventually becoming Area Manager for the Scottish Division. In 2006, he was part of the Management Buy Out team that purchased CRL from Gleeson.
As Regional Manager for CRL’s Scottish Business Unit, he led all aspects of operations across Scotland and Ireland before joining the CRL Board in 2020.
A highly driven problem solver, Murray has recently helped develop innovative inspection and repair techniques for the renewable energy sector, extending the service life of ageing wind turbines.
