Concrete Repairs Ltd (CRL) undertook the works as a coordinated package, combining specialist access, surface preparation, concrete repairs, and protective coating application. Site establishment included offices, welfare facilities, and storage areas to support safe and efficient delivery. Access to all elevations was achieved through the organised delivery and erection of scaffolding, supplemented by MEWPs where appropriate, allowing controlled access to stairwells, walkways, balconies, and external walls.
The existing anti-carbonation coating was carefully removed using KEIM Paint Stripper STS 7M, followed by thorough pressure washing to expose the concrete substrate. This process ensured that carbonation-affected areas, previous defective repairs, and latent defects could be accurately identified. Defective construction and building joints were removed and replaced, while ancillary spot repairs were carried out to address minor fabric defects.
Areas of defective concrete were broken out to sound material and repaired using appropriate concrete repair techniques to reinstate cover and structural performance. These interventions were targeted and proportionate, ensuring that only affected areas were treated while maintaining programme efficiency. Once repairs were completed, a new KEIM anti-carbonation coating system was applied to all external concrete surfaces, providing a breathable yet protective barrier against further carbonation. Multi-seal self-adhesive was applied to building joints as instructed, ensuring continuity of protection across interfaces. CRL’s integrated approach demonstrates its expertise in concrete repairs and structural repairs UK, delivering technically sound solutions tailored to residential assets.
