On Friday the 6th of February, the Scottish Business Unit gathered for its annual standdown day, which took place at the iconic Falkirk Wheel. This event was dedicated to fostering communication and consultation among all members of the Scottish workforce.
The day provided an excellent opportunity for colleagues to come together in person and enjoy a hearty breakfast of filled rolls, followed later by a lunch featuring delicious soup, a selection of sandwiches, and an assortment of cakes to suit all tastes.
Senior management from the Falkirk business unit delivered a series of presentations covering several key topics. These included updates on the region's performance and an outline of the business roadmap for the coming year. Additional presentations covered key areas including mental health, quality, modern slavery, vehicle management, and social value.
The event was further enriched by the presence of guests from Mitcham, including representatives from the HR, Training, and Payroll departments, led by Sharon, Len and Heather. This gathering offered everyone a valuable opportunity to connect face-to-face, and, based on observations, there were numerous positive, engaging interactions between the Falkirk team and their guests.
