As part of its 70th Anniversary celebrations, CRL has undertaken a series of tree planting initiatives across the UK, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, biodiversity, and community engagement.

In Bristol, the CRL team planted apple and lime trees within a local business park. Located in a large open green space that is set to be transformed into a recreational area, these trees are already beginning to establish and will, over time, provide a peaceful, shaded environment for visitors and the wider community. In addition to enhancing the landscape, the trees will contribute to local biodiversity by supporting wildlife habitats and aiding in carbon capture.

To further extend its environmental impact in the region, CRL has also donated eight trees to Avon Needs Trees. This contribution supports the development of the Lower Chew Forest, an ambitious initiative that will see over 100,000 native trees and shrubs planted, creating the largest new woodland in the South West.

In Falkirk, our colleagues have also played an active role in the company’s national tree planting initiative. The team planted 10 native oak trees on land generously provided by a local farmer and CRL employee, John Davie. These trees will enhance Scotland’s existing tree population while creating valuable habitats for wildlife in the years ahead. CRL would like to thank Fiona and John Davie for their support, as well as Sean Byrne and John Dunn for their efforts in delivering the planting works. We look forward to planting more trees in our other business areas!

These initiatives form part of CRL’s wider commitment to creating a positive and lasting environmental impact. By working in partnership with local organisations and communities, CRL continues to invest in greener, more resilient spaces that will benefit both people and wildlife for generations to come.
